Richard Riehle, a prolific character actor whose bushy mustache and knack for portraying beleaguered middlemen made him a favorite of Hollywood casting directors for decades, died Friday, according to his representatives.

Riehle acted in over 400 screen projects, including “Casino,” “The Fugitive,” “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” “Grounded for Life,” and “The Legend of Korra.”

Mr. Riehle, best remembered for playing an anxious character with “people skills,” built a career in theater, TV and film that lasted more than half a century.

Richard Riehle starred in "Office Space," "Casino," and over 400 projects across nearly five decades before his death at 78 this past weekend.
